About the Clinics

Bouldering 101:  Intro to Bouldering
Our Bouldering 101 clinic is an introduction to bouldering at our gym, perfect for those who have never climbed before or are very new to climbing. This clinic will cover gym safety and etiquette, introduce you to how to read a route, familiarize you with different types of walls and holds, and some basic techniques to get you up and down the walls! 

Bouldering 102: Basic Bouldering Technique
Our Bouldering 102 clinic is an introduction to efficient climbing movement, perfect for someone who has climbed a few times and knows how our route systems work and basic gym safety. This clinic will focus on body awareness, help you understanding your center of gravity as it relates to balance, cover basic footwork and techniques to move you up the wall with more efficiency!

Bouldering 201: Advanced Climbing Technique
Our Bouldering 201 clinic is an introduction to advanced climbing techniques, perfect for someone who has climbed for at least a couple months, can climb some oranges and are working on reds. This clinic will cover advanced movement & footwork, static climbing, static vs. dynamic climbing techniques, and projecting tips. 

Bouldering 202: Rotating Themes
Bouldering 202 dives deeper into one advanced climbing theme (a specific movement or training element) at a time. 

Kids Clinic: Ages 5-7
Our Kids Clinic is the perfect way to introduce kids to climbing at our gym! An instructor will introduce important gym safety, teach how to read a route, and introduce different types of walls and holds, and give tips to make it up and down the walls! Kids will leave the clinic with a sense of accomplishment and pride. You may attend any or all of the clinics.

Youth Team Drop In: Ages 8-11
Our Youth Team Drop In is our clinic for older kids. Kids become familiar with gym safety and how to read a route as they participate with in our recreational team activities, facilitated by two expert coaches. Please email: BellinghamCrew@VitalClimbingGym.com to set up a drop-in day.  

Private Instruction (All ages)
Spend 1 hour working one-on-one with a climbing coach on your specific climbing needs!
