VITAL’s 200-hour Teacher Training program has been thoughtfully crafted for students who want to dive deeper into understanding the various facets of yoga in order to grow in their personal practice in a way that encompasses philosophy, movement, and anatomy. Participants in this program will learn and develop the necessary skills and self-understanding to lead well-rounded, safe, and effective yoga classes.
Philosophy | 30 hours
Yoga Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation | 100 hours
Postures and Pranayama techniques with a clear focus on alignment, body benefits, contraindications, and special population adaptations
Anatomy and Physiology | 20 hours
A comprehensive overview of the physical body—bones, muscles, bodily systems and organs, and the subtleties of the energetic body
Teaching Methodology | 30 hours
Practical aspects of teaching which include class sequencing, hands-on assists, use of voice and body language, and effective cueing
Practicum | 15 hours
Practice teaching, assisting, observing, and giving and receiving feedback
Business of Yoga | 5 hours
How to market yourself, apply for teaching opportunities, social media

Do you offer a payment program?
Yes, we are happy to work with you and your budget.
Do you offer a discount to students, military, fire and police?
Yes, we offer a $200 discount with proof of occupation or school schedule.
Do I get to teach at VITAL after completing the program?
All participants are welcome to apply upon graduation. We hold group auditions when hiring and will set you up for success on what to expect.
What style of yoga classes will I learn to teach?
You will be able to teach alignment-based vinyasa, hatha, and hot yoga of all levels.
Am I allowed to miss some scheduled classes or leave early?
Ideally, you wouldn’t miss any class sessions as the course moves quickly, and there is a lot to cover. You are allowed to miss up to two sessions and would be required to complete make up assignments. Any practice teaching sessions missed will need to be rescheduled and would require a $50 make up fee.
