Community

We are honored to serve this community, and we strive to make VITAL an accessible and welcoming place for everyone. Here are a few of the things we are doing in pursuit of this vision.

VITAL VOLUNTEERS

We believe that every person can be a powerful force for good in the world. That is why we pay all of our employees, from managers to crew, to volunteer their time for local non-profits every month. If you would like awareness brought to your organization, please let us know by emailing katesparks@vitalclimbinggym.com so we can share your goals with our staff.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Our goal is to be priced affordably, but we understand that not everyone can afford the gym. This is why we created a financial support program! Every month we contribute funds to this program so those who are facing financial limitations can still experience VITAL. This program can be used to access memberships, youth climbing competitions & teams, and clinics & workshops.

You know your circumstance best, and it is not our position to judge your needs. For this reason, the program is self-screened and disbursed on a first-come first-served basis. If you or someone you know would be a good fit, please click here to apply.

GROUP PARTNERS

We are excited to support mission-driven groups who want to use the gym. We can help support and coordinate a single event or recurring meetup, as well as offer a space and discounted access to the gym for groups during the event. This is a great way to use the gym in an affordable way with the support of a group you already belong to.

DONATIONS TO YOUR CAUSE

If you are looking for membership donations for a charitable cause, then please reach out to katesparks@vitalclimbinggym.com. We have supported many organizations over the years, and we’d love to learn about yours. Most commonly, we donate memberships and day passes, which your charity can use for fundraising events.

VITAL ArT Program

VITAL is more than just a climbing gym—it’s a space for movement, creativity, and community. We’re looking for local artists to feature at our locations and bring inspiring visuals to our walls! If you’re interested in showcasing your work, we’d love to hear from you. All styles and mediums are welcome! Fill out the form to be considered for a future exhibit at VITAL.

Apply here and help bring more creativity to our space!

A WELCOMING PLACE

Our mission is to create places that people love—and it would be hard to love a place if you did not feel welcome and comfortable there. That is why we ensure that our team is trained on what they can do to make the gym an inclusive environment. Our members are also asked to adhere to a code of conduct to help ensure a healthy culture. Fitness can be intimidating, and we want to do our best to support, uplift, and welcome you here!

CODE OF CONDUCT

• Be courteous in your interactions.

• Be slow to judge one another - start with assuming good intentions.

• Be sensitive to the impact of your actions, even if the impact is unintentional.

• Respect one another's physical and emotional boundaries. For example, ask permission before giving a spot or providing beta.

• Language that harasses, intimidates, demeans, or mocks another person is unacceptable.

• Be respectful of one another regardless of age, race, ethnicity, citizenship, religion, marital status, ability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or any other status.

Makers market

We’re back with another Makers Market — an evening dedicated to celebrating the creativity that lives within our community.

Join us on Monday, November 3rd from 5–8 PM at VITAL Oceanside for a night of local art, food, and handmade goods crafted by some seriously talented humans. Whether you’re looking to shop, connect, or just enjoy the good vibes, this is the place to be.

Come explore and support these incredible makers:

MAK Glass – Glass-blown jewelry that’s as bold and unique as the hands that crafted it.
Amy Cornell – Beautiful wheel-thrown pottery including mugs, jars, bowls, and vases.
The Playful Yogi – Kids Yoga Cards that inspire mindfulness and movement for the little ones.
Kasper’s Ice Cream Company – Handcrafted ice cream sandwiches that taste like happiness.
Grace Spath – Chalk belt bags, block prints, and naturally dyed shirts and socks — earthy, artistic, and one of a kind.
Brian Feretic – 3D resin art infused with natural materials like kelp, fungi, and dried flowers. Inspired by neuroscience, climbing, surfing, and the Sierras — each piece tells a story.
Mackinsey Creagan – Ceramics inspired by nature and climbing — mugs, bowls, and planters decorated with butterflies and flowers.
Sara Stanley – Handmade surfboard racks designed to elevate your space and bring surf style indoors.
Sunkiss Potted – Small-batch ceramics and garden goodies, all thrown and grown locally in Oceanside.
Diegel Designs – 3D-printed creations blending modern tech with handmade charm.

Bring your friends, and shop local! Every purchase supports a local artist and helps keep creativity thriving in our community.

Free to attend. All are welcome.
