General Info

  • There are 6 categories that climbers can compete in:

    Youth - (Ages 5 - 12)

    Masters - (40+)

    Recreational - (V0-V3)

    Intermediate - (V4-V5)

    Advanced - (V6-V7)

    Open - (Suggested V8)

•Competitors have 3 hours to finish the 5 hardest boulder problems they can. Only the top 5 completed climbs will be counted towards the climbers' score total.

•Every climb is numbered on the start hold(s). Start and finish holds are marked with 2 pieces of tape, finish tape will define the last hold.

•Competitors must attempt each problem from the start hold every time. Working moves in isolation, or starting in the middle of a climb is not allowed.

•Competitors may try a boulder as many times as they want.

•A climb is finished when the competitor shows control with both hands on the marked finish hold. If there is no marked finish, (I.E.The top-out boulder) climbs on the top-out boulder must be completed by climbing up and over the boulder.

•In order for a climb to count, climbers need two witness initials on the scorecard.

•Only competitors are allowed on the mats, spectators may sign off on completed climbs, but must remain off the mats to allow space for the competitors. Youth competitors may have a parent or coach accompanying them on the mat.

•Every attempt must be tallied on the scorecard for each climb. If a competitor flashes a climb (completes the climb on the firsttry), write (I) in the attempts column for that climb.

•Competitors will be given a warning when time is about to end. Climbers still on the wall when time expires are allowed to finish their attempt.

•The digital score form must be filled out by scanning the qr code inside the scorecard after the session is over.

•The scorecard then must be turned in to collection bags after the session is over.

•Any errors on a scorecard may result in disqualification.

    • A competitor’s score is determined by the accumulation of points from completed climbs during their session.

      • Only the top 5 scores will count toward your final total.

      • Each completed climb must be verified by two witness signatures on your physical scorecard.

      • Attempts are recorded to settle ties. Enter your total attempts across your top 5 climbs.

      • Every competitor must scan the Digital Score Form QR code inside the scorecard and enter their top 5 highest scores along with their attempts.

      • All competitors must turn in their score cards to the designated bags after submitting scores via QR code.

      • Failure to scan, submit and turn in scorecards may result in disqualification.

  • We reserve the right to bump any competitor into a higher category based on performance.

If your final score is higher than the average score of the category above you, you will be bumped.

  • The top 5 competitors with the highest scores who competed in the first session of the Open category will compete in Onsight Finals.

2 boulders per category (Male & Female)

Competitors will have 4 minutes to complete their boulder problem

    Scoring:

    • Start: 4 points of contact

    • Zone: Must show control with progressive movement

    • Top: Must show control with both hands

    • Attempt: when all 4 points leave the ground

Ranking is based on the number of tops, zone, and attempts
